This spring we’re off on a journey, not on an exotic destination like Chandigarh or Naoshima, but to the Flemish hinterland where the names of the hamlets vaguely sounds familiar and where cyclists tracks are guiding us.

The tour takes you to a number of contemporary interventions on or near the city fortifications and then goes in search of notable buildings and homes in the suburbs with a contemporary and/or modernist perspective.

The architecture of Gino Debruyne is clear, coherent and logical. His projects are formally very restrained and balanced traced to sharp balanced volumetric compositions.

Gino Debruyne

Gino Debruyne (┬░Izegem, 1957) is a Belgian architect.

He graduated in 1980 as an engineer architect. After an internship with the group planning to Jan Tanghe and Desimpelaere Werner (1980-1982), he remains an employee until 1988. In 1989 he started his own architectural firm which very often works with clients from the healthcare sector.
