In 2015 the works at the Leie river are almost complete. Since 1995, the river is widened and seven new bridges are built. The result: a metamorphosis of the city in a beautiful combination of architecture and landscaping.
With the festive project ‘De Grote Verleieding’ we give the river back to the residents. We would like to invite you for a walk along the renovated sides of the Leie and visit to the unique temporary exhibition Metamorphoses with a guide. Find out all about how an infrastructure work evolved into a quality urban encroachment. A procedure which in turn allows for the transformation of the Leie and the adjoining districts.
