Kortrijk Creativity Week
Karel Cambien
More than ever, the past year showed the need to use space in a layered way. In times of COVID-19 it became apparent how one-sidedly the many infrastructures of a city can be deployed when there is a great need for (public) space. Can the infrastructure of educational institutions be used to support the urban structure and provide a buffer in times of need? Moreover, can educational infrastructure be designed in such a way that it forms a permanent lever in neighborhood activities and the urban environment? Kortrijk takes a pioneering role here and focuses on open, dynamic learning environments.
