Is it not true that architecture should be a slow job? By thinking, kneading, recaling, modifying and rooting one can arrive at choices for layering with a wealth of experiences. Through a system with various time-lapse recordings you can explore an architectural jewel of Marie-José Van Hee Architects on various scales. A mental box of rest gives the viewer time to gradually acclimatize into the serene, qualitative spaces to live in.
Filmmaker Maarten Vanden Abeele visited and documented the home of William Van Aelten and Tinne Oosterlinck in Opwijk, designed by architect Marie-José Van Hee with the theme ‘inertia’. In 2013 the property received the Provincial Architecture Prize of Vlaams-Brabant and in June 2014 it got a honorable mention on the Architectural Review Awards in London. Marie-José Van Hee also received in January 2017 the prestigious British International Fellowship from the Royal Inistitute of British Architects (RIBA) for her contribution to architecture.
