Maalstroom’s third open call, AAN ZET, gathered work that approaches space as a playing field: spatial interventions, games, scenarios, objects, rules and proposals that invite active participation. On the 25th of June, we will bring together a selection of these games at the EGW building in Ghent. All games are on show and most are, better still, ready to play!

This is not only a one-day exhibition, but a veritable games marathon, where visitors can experience the many different ways in which we can engage with architecture. Between game and architecture, between fiction and reality, between proposal and execution – we are opening a temporary playing field. Come and play, observe, negotiate, move, win or invent new rules. Playful children, curious neighbours, students, friends and passers-by: everyone is welcome. And those who’d rather not join in a game can head to the bar for a drink, a chat with the organisers, or simply experience it all from the sidelines.
