This is an initiative by twelve designers from Ghent. Here, they have their say.
A year ago, the city architect brought us together: twelve Ghent-based architects, urban planners and landscape designers, centred around a simple question. What structural problems are keeping the spatial design sector up at night today? What began as a closed group – at the time still dubbed the ‘designers’ union’ – grew into something new behind the scenes . A united front of architects with a name of its own: G737.
On Tuesday 22 September, we’ll be opening our doors for the first time to the wider Ghent spatial design community. With an initial programme focusing on design competitions, affordable housing and more, as well as the launch of a recurring series: Tuesdays at the Vitrine.
Are you active in the field and do you believe that designers deserve a louder voice in the urban debate and far beyond? Then come along to celebrate, chat and get to know one another.
We hope to welcome as many of you as possible on 22 September — for the content, for each other, and for a first toast to what lies ahead.
