Cubed brings architecture to life, specially designed for Open Call °°4: The Vehikel. This mobile platform brings people together and combines the ingenuity of the matryoshka, the playfulness of the building block trolley and the appeal of Aldo Rossi’s Teatro del Mondo. The design deliberately opts for a simple form that does not dictate its use, but purely facilitates it.

The modular system consists of 13 cleverly interlocking cubes. The large modules can serve as a table, display case or stage, whilst the walls are perfect for projections, posters or as a backdrop. The smallest coloured cubes feature handy storage space and can be used as seating or plinths. By extending the system, a setting for an intimate conversation, lecture or workshop is instantly created. Archipel’s flagpole and salmon-red colour make it instantly recognisable. The construction is ingenious and practical. A lightweight aluminium tubular frame, clad in sheet material, ensures that one or two people can effortlessly move the cart along using the drawbar. The result is a rock-solid, demountable eye-catcher that is ready to bring Ghent to life as an urban nomad.
