China - group 1
Ziou Gao
Despite its impressive history, China often remains shrouded in mystery for Westerners, especially when it comes to art, culture and architecture. During the prospecting trip, we marvelled at the scale and dynamism of this country, made fascinating contacts and got to enjoy Chinese (culinary) life.
In the autumn of 2024, the Archipel team will take you on an experiential journey to this immense and enchanting country, where bridges are built between the past and the future, between tradition and modernity. We will visit timeless, impressive and inspiring architectural projects by a new generation of Chinese designers of international standing, and discover together contemporary interpretations of age-old traditions. From contemporary masterpieces by Amateur Studio to ancient projects of serene beauty, such as the classical gardens in Suzhou, are on the programme.
Together, we will experience the diversity of Chinese culture and history that has shaped its unique identity in contemporary architecture. So join us on this unique journey, a cross section from North to South, in this ancient and ultramodern country driven by superlatives!
