The Alive Brick Project
The Alive Brick Project is a manifesto for hybridity – between matter, life, and death. It questions the sterility of our habitats, their false impermeability, and the integrity of our gaze in relation to the earth.
The Alive Brick Project is an investigation – a material research focused on what we call a “Brick.” It searches between living and dead matter, exploring permeability, porosity, and uncertainty, where elements remain alive and intertwined. This project is a quest for a new material that does not judge matter as good or bad, but instead asks for an architecture that is hybrid – between the organic, like minerals, and the organic, like roots and fungi. It asks how to create a habitat from material that resembles us.
