Unlimited Landscapes
What if you could rethink landscape – without boundaries of education, discipline or title? Landscape today is a crossroads between city and nature, between humans and systems, between disciplines. Landscape architecture, architecture, interior architecture, urbanism and spatial planning: all approach space in their own way, with their own tools, perspectives and sensitivities. But what happens when they come together in the design of a landscape?
‘Unlimited Landscapes’ is an open call for students and recent graduates who put landscape at the centre of their design. Students who investigate, connect, question or redesign landscape. Because even though there is no master’s programme in landscape architecture in Flanders (yet), landscape is a central theme in many design studios. That is exactly what we want to zoom in on.
From the entries of the open call, we select projects that will be shown during a public evening on Thursday 25 September in Ghent, with discussions and reflections on landscape design and the need for a fully-formed master’s degree in landscape architecture. This evening will be co-designed by students themselves.
Do you have a strong project, a sharp idea or a critical pen? You can apply as:
- someone to help build the digital archive of student work (submit your project via the link, this is open to all!)
- presenter of your work (short presentation + conversation)
- co-curator of the evening (help think about themes, interview, write, set up conversations)
As presenters or co-curators, we are particularly looking for the following profiles:
- Master students / recent graduates in architecture, interior architecture, urban planning or spatial planning who have a design project in which landscape questions are a central focus and want to show how they approach a landscape context from their discipline’s perspective
- Bachelor students of landscape architecture who want to show, through their own project, what they believe is or should be at the core of their studies. What makes landscape architecture so unique? What could strengthen, deepen or challenge a master’s programme?
Apply before Friday 20 June 2025 by filling in this form.
