West 8 is an urban planning and landscape architecture firm, founded in 1987 by Adriaan Geuze and Paul van Beek with offices in Rotterdam, North America and Belgium.
Adriaan Geuze
(°Dordrecht, October 28, 1960) graduated in Landscape Architecture from Wageningen University in 1987. West 8 grew into an international company with offices in New York and Brussels.
In 1990 he was awarded the Prix de Rome, urban planning and landscape architecture category. In 1995 he was awarded the Maaskant Prize for young architects. In 2002, Adriaan Geuze received the Rosa Barba First European Landscape Prize and the Veronica Rudge Green Prize for Urban Design from the Harvard Design School. He was recently honored with the American Society of Landscape Architecture (ASLA) Honor Award in 2009, the AIA Institute Honor Award 2012 and the 2011 Oeuvre Prize for Architecture from the Fund for Visual Arts, Design and Architecture. On October 4, 2018, Geuze received the Klinkenbergh Prize.
