Leo Copers
Leo Copers (°Ghent, ca. 1947) is a Belgian artist. He received his art training as an artist at the Sint-Lucas College and the Art Academy in his hometown.
He was co-founder in 1967 of the New Rococco group, which however only lasted 3 years.
Copers originally pioneered as a conceptual seeker, but quickly evolved into a very original objects installer, where he creates surreal alienating associations from an unlimited choice of materials. Well-known are his sword in rock and man-Flower Vase, worked out in series.
