Jean Van den Bogaerde
Jean Van den Bogaerde (°1929) has taught at various institutions, won several awards for his designs and participated in numerous architectural competitions.
Like many contemporaries, Van den Bogaerde was inspired by the international avant-garde, particularly Le Corbusier, Mies van der Rohe and Frank Lloyd Wright and the examples of the “Case Study House Program” in California. A relationship with Japanese architecture is reflected in the importance of integration in the area, wood construction, the open plan arrangement, the sliding doors, the overhangs.
