Bataille & Ibens
Bataille and Ibens are known for making relations between interior design and architecture.
Claire Bataille (°Antwerp, April 10, 1940) and Paul Ibens (°Antwerp, 1939 – 2020) followed the training interior design at the Antwerp Academy where they were taught by Jules De Roover. In 1968 they started together in Antwerp office Bataille-Ibens Design. Through the painter Jef Verheyen they come into contact with Gerard Lens, whose house they can design in Frankfurt. Their most notable property is the house Corthout in Schilde (1973), consisting of a metal structural work which they realized together with architect Lieven Langohr. The renovation of Castle Groenhoven (1999) of their hand.
