Taira Nishizawa
Taira Nishizawa (°Tokyo, 1964) is a Japanese architect, the elder brother of Ryue Nishizawa (SANAA)
The work of Taira Nishizawa embodies his empirical vision. On top of this comes his rigorous search for the choice and use of materials, plus his masterful proportions of facades and window openings.
He won several awards, including the AR Award 2005 and the Prize for Best Young Architect in Japan in 2005. The renowned Gallery Ma in Tokyo in 2004 dedicated a solo exhibition of his work entitled “Taira Nishizawa 1994-2004” with accompanying publication.
